Our last "couple" trip was to the Baltic island of Rügen, where we stayed in Sellin.
The main street in the town of Sellin, Wilhelmstraße. Sellin is one of the four main resort towns on Rügen; the others are Sassnitz, Binz and Göhren.
The bedroom of our suite at the Hotel-Park Ambiance in Sellin. We got a hotel package that included a room and a three-course dinner.
Jim peruses the many signs leading to different hikes around Sellin. We did a 2.5 hour hike to the Jagdschloß Granitz, a hunting palace in the woods between the towns of Sellin and Binz.

The front of the lovely Hotel-Park Ambiance, the spa hotel where we stayed. The hotel consists of five lovely restored turn-of-the-century villas.

A look back from the pier at the Cliff Hotel and Sellin on the hill. Rügen was actually quite a nice destination during the winter; the crowds were much thinner, and afternoon Kaffee und Kuchen was really nice after being out in the cold all morning!
Kirsten stands at the top of the long steps that lead down to the famous Cliff Hotel on Sellin's pier. The pier is a remarkable piece of engineering that has stood for over 100 years.
