The Coogee Gang is a group of people who all met in Australia (and many lived in the Sydney neighborhood of Coogee, hence the name). Several of the founding members of the group were in graduate school together at the University of New South Wales, and the gang grew from there. Since Marco and Bine were members of the Coogee Gang, gang members came from their current homes all over the world to gather and celebrate the week of the wedding. Kirsten and Jim met many of the Coogee Gang members on their trip to visit members John and Susan McMahon in Sydney in 1999, and John and Susan were the ones who put them in touch with Marco and Bine when they first moved to Germany, so Kirsten and Jim feel like honorary members!

Just a few of the many photos from the week of celebrations are shown on this page. To see all of the photos from the festivities, click here.

Coogee Gang members sure clean up well! Here are members Joe and Tanja, who now live in Munich.

Another Coogee Gang group shot from the wedding: Marco with the girls, who included Kate, Tanja, Manue (from France), Tamzin (from the U.K.), and Nicola.
John, Susan, and son Rowan are some of the few Coogee Gang members who still live in Coogee!
