Goslar has one of Germany's best preserved medieval town centers.
Goslar's heart, the Markt, with the late-Gothic Rathaus on the left, the fountain in the middle, and other lovely half-timbered houses on the right.
The Brusttuch Hotel, built in 1521 and one of the most impressive examples of a patrician house in Goslar.
A close-up of the Markt fountain, which dates from the 13th century. It is crowned by an eagle, symbolizing Goslar's status as a free imperial city.
The impressive Hotel Kaiserworth, which was originally built in 1494 to hose the textile guild.
