September 2001 was the first time both
of us had been back to the States since
moving to Germany. Our first stop --
Sweet Home Chicago! |

One of the groups we miss the most is our St.
Clement's Small Faith Group, so it was wonderful
to be able to have brunch at Clarke's
with two group members -- Anne Kendeigh and
Amy Shimala. |

| We couldn't go back to Chicago and
miss going to a Cubs game! So here
we are with Kirsten's
brother Kevin (far right) and good
friends AJ Steger and Jody Bachman. |

| Our time in Chicago was made even
more special because we stayed with
Kirsten's brother Kevin and sister-in-
law Mandi at their new house. Plus,
we got to see Mandi
perform the lead part of Annie in the
play Table Manners (above with
fellow actor Jeff Anseth). Not only
did we think she was fabulous, but
the media agreed -- the newspaper
review of the play said Mandi was
the standout in the cast! |
 |
| The main event of our visit to Chicago was the wedding of friends Dave Mastrofski and Suzie Rurode
(see the Weddings and Babies page for further
details). We had a super time, and Jim got to visit
with lots of AC Nielsen friends (Dave and Suzie met
at Nielsen) -- see above! |
