Life aboard a Holland America ship is relaxing, entertaining, and quite fattening!
Aunt Jane, Mom, and Dad during our first lifeboat drill. Ever since the Titanic disaster, passenger lifeboat drills have been mandatory on all ships.
A chef demonstrates how he makes some of the amazing marzipan concoctions that passengers can sample onboard.
Our wonderful waiter Teguh. He is from Indonesia and has been with Holland America for 8 years. He plans to work for one more year before "retiring" to run a restaurant with his wife and family.
One of the highlights of every Holland America cruise is the Filipino/Indonesian crew show. This dance from Bali featured our busboy Carman.
Aunt Jane, Mom, and Dad pose at one of the lavishly decorated tables in the main dining room, the Rotterdam. The dining room can seat 657 people and hosts two dinner seatings each night to accommodate everyone.
An all-important tender being raised from the water. Many of the ports we stopped in were too shallow for docking, so tenders were used to shuttle passengers back and forth to the mainland.
