first stop after Edinburgh was the Great Glen, a place with lovely
scenery and hikes. |

remote, with its river running through a gorge surrounded by the Caledonian
woodland. We even saw a red deer on our hike! |

top of the Caledonian Canal locks at Fort Augustus. Boats using the
canal are raised and lowered about 36 feet by five locks. |
