Our first stop after Edinburgh was the Great Glen, a place with lovely scenery and hikes.
Rich and Lisa pose in front of the River Affric at the beginning of our Glen Affric hike.
A view of our bed & breakfast in Spean Bridge, Tirindrish House. It was a wonderful place with great views and a lovely host and hostess, Peter and Jean.
A view down the River Affric into the Glen. Glen Affric is relatively remote, with its river running through a gorge surrounded by the Caledonian woodland. We even saw a red deer on our hike!
The top of the Caledonian Canal locks at Fort Augustus. Boats using the canal are raised and lowered about 36 feet by five locks.
