Stirling
is a city not too far from Edinburgh with some lovely attractions. |
| Billed
as one of Scotland's grandest castles, Stirling Castle is indeed a large
and well preserved one, set high on a volcanic crag overlooking the countryside. |
| A
statue of Robert the Bruce stares out over the countryside, seemingly at
the Wallace Monument in the distance. |
| The
Wallace Monument, a 220 ft tower completed in 1869 as a tribute to one of
Scotland's greatest heros, William Wallace (now better known from Mel Gibson's
Braveheart film). |
| We
were lucky enough to catch a concert being performed in the Great Hall of
the castle, ironically by a French choir. |
