Skye
is perhaps best known for the Cuillin Ridge, mountains popular with climbers. |

| Rich,
Lisa, and Jim pose with Scotty (our mascot for the day) at the beginning
of the Coire Lagan hike on Skye. We got Scotty the night before at dinner. |

 |
| The
end of the hike required a lot of rock scrambling, which Kirsten is demonstrating
here. Thank goodness the rocks were dry! |

 |
| We
made it! Rich, Lisa, Jim and Scotty pose in front of the imposing Sgurr
Alasdair (something only serious climbers attempt!). Our hike was hard enough
- uphill for 1.5 hours. |
 |
| Near
the beginning of the hike with our final destination barely in view; it
was the Coire (a rock shelf) in between the two peaks on the right. |

 |
| The
reward for a long day's hike - a beer and some dinner. Jim, Lisa, Rich,
and Scotty (with his own Coke) toast a hike and a holiday well done! |
 |
| Telltale
barrels from the Talisker distillery, one of the many whisky distilleries
in the Highlands. Talisker is the strongest of the lot, with the most peat
taste. We tried it, but prefered a milder whisky. |
