| The ethereal Doolough (Dark Lake) Valley on the southestern edge of County Mayo, with a memorial on the left. The memorial is in remembrance of 600 men, women and children who walked through that valley during the Famine in hopes that the landlord of a nearby Lodge would offer them food. The landlord refused, and 400 of the travellers died from hunger and exposure on the return journey. |

| The haunting National Famine Memorial, situated across from Croagh Patrick. The Memorial commemorates those who died during the 1845-1849 Famine. |
