We had several lovely days where we got to drive and hike through Connemara.
We spent one morning going on a guided nature walk through Connemara National Park, learning all about the ecology of the area.
A lovely stone bridge near the Connemara National Park visitor center. The park has 2000 hectares of bog, mountain, and heath.
A look at some of the abundant wild fuchsia in western Ireland. Fuchsia is used extensively for hedges in the west and has come to be associated with Ireland (although the plant is originally from Chile).
Another lovely Connemara landscape, this time a view of Derryclare Lough between Clifden and Galway City.
A tranquil scene along the shores of Lough Corrib near the town of Oughterard.
One of the group of Connemara ponies that live in the Connemara National Park.
