The steeple of the imposing 13th century Oude Kerk (Old Church), the oldest parish church in the city of Delft.
The lovely Stadthuis (city hall) which was built in 1618-1620 around remnants of the old town hall, including a 13th Century prison tower. Kirsten had the opportunity to attend a reception in the Stadthuis, hosted by the Mayor of Delft.
One of the many picturesque canals in Delft. Delft flourished in the 17th Century as the headquarters of the Dutch East India Company; it was also home to one of Holland's greatest painters, Jan Vermeer.
A historic fishhouse in Delft, with the Oude Kerk tower in the background. Delft has a wonderful historic city center which is crammed with 17th and 18th century houses, streets that overlook canals, magnificent public buildings, and outdoor markets.
Another view of the Oude Kerk, reflected in one of the canals. From this viewpoint, you can see the two meter tilt in its tower.
