For
the last week of our trip, we stayed at the Olympian Village, a relatively new resort on the
west coast of the Peloponnesian peninsula. As it was part of our German travel agency-planned
package, there were a lot of Germans there, but it was lovely. |

just shared with three other rooms -- very nice for swimming laps in the morning! |

night at the resort. The dining room had most of its seating outside, which was lovely in
the cool evenings. For more information about the resort, see their website at www.aldemarhotels.com. |

Above,
the Olympian Village's beach, looking north. We did actually go in the water one of the
days; it was cold but not unbearable, and the water is quite shallow for quite a distance,
which made it good for body surfing!
Left, an obstacle that we encountered
a few times, goats (or in this case, sheep) being herded across the road on the way to our
the resort. |

Since we faced west, we got to watch
the sunset from the resort every night. The photo on the right showed an unusual night in
that, because of the strong wind, visibility was very good and you could actually see the
island of Zakynthos (on the left) and the clouds above the island of Kefallonia (on the
right).
