| Edinburgh's
best-known landmark, Edinburgh Castle. On the right is the clock tower of
the historic Balmoral Hotel. The oldest building in the castle dates from
around 1076, and the castle has been held by Scots and Englishmen, Catholics
and Protestants, soldiers and royalty over the years. |

Balmoral hotel in the far back, the National Gallery of Scotland in
the middle, and a cemetery to soldiers' dogs at the bottom. |
